Thank you Pru!

I want to share our story with you.


It wasn't easy hearing the difficult news from our vet.

The diagnosis pancreatic tumor meant that my best friend has been alive for 9 years, only 6 months, maybe 1 year.


2.5 years later, Pru is still with us and does all the things that dogs do when they are happy.


Before I continue, I am the co-founder of Apipet and Pru is someone very important to us!


Pru is our mascot, our family member, our reason why we have carefully and actively devoted ourselves to Apipet.


We owe to Pru all our successes and all the changed lives of owners and their pets.

Who are Apipet?

We are a Croatian company that manufactures and sells food supplements for pets.

Our entire production takes place in Croatia and is based on 100% natural ingredients.

In Croatia we have 4,000 satisfied customers and Apipet is now available almost all over Europe.

What's so magical about propolis?


If we had to put it in one word: EVERYTHING.

Propolis is really a wonderful symbiosis of nature. It is formed on plants, bees process it and in the end we get a true miracle of nature containing over 300 compounds.


What's amazing is that these compounds serve as a true natural shield for entire bee colonies.


This is where the first idea for our research came from: How can something that acts as a natural protection also protect humans and our pets?

It sounds easy to prepare something that occurs in nature for humans and our pets, but that's the biggest problem.


Propolis is very complex, a hard resin that, in addition to its wonderful beneficial substances, can also contain elements that are not suitable for consumption. Also, it's so hard it can hardly be chewed.


And that's where we came to our first big innovation!


We have managed to fully preserve propolis as it occurs in nature without using any chemical means.

Why is this important?


Because propolis contains many vitamins, minerals, polyphenols and flavonoids.All these ingredients together are rich in antioxidants and have antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects and boost the immunity of young bees


In order to achieve maximum health benefits, it is important that all of these ingredients are preserved as much as possible.


That is why we have developed an innovative solution to preserve all the healing properties of bee products. So propolis, as it is in the hive, remains unchanged in our product!


To be absolutely sure of the performance and effectiveness of our products, we conducted tests, then controls, and then more tests, and we still do that today.


We are researching and testing the possibilities of using propolis and other bee products for human and animal health.


We have conducted research at the following renowned institutions, among others:


  • Ruđer Bošković Institute. Zagreb
  • Institute for Maritime Medicine, Split
  • Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Split
  • Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagreb

Today, Hedera (the parent company of Apipet ) a successful family company with a tradition of more than 20 years and the same mission anchored in the company's foundations: THE BEST OF NATURE and THE BEST OF SCIENCE.


The fact that Hedera was the only Croatian company to receive a patent for a propolis-based product in 2020 proves that such an approach is forward-looking.


The family tradition of product development based on propolis and other bee products is continued by Dr. sc. Božo Radić together with the whole Hedera team, which works every day to improve its products and services.

What products does Pru use?

Due to their condition, Pru uses 2 Apipet products:

Apipet Immuno - due to the medication (corticosteroids) she takes daily, it is very important for us that her immunity is strong so that she can tolerate this therapy.


The effect of the corticosteroids is also better when using Immuno than if they were used alone

Apipet Flexi - due to the fact that the cortices influence water absorption, there is also weight gain.

Pru is still a lady her age and it can never be good for her joints, so it's important to us that her legs serve her as long as possible.


She's still waiting for us at the door trying to pounce on us - so for now it's working
